What Should I Expect At Maranatha?
Expect to make new friends in a friendly atmosphere! Expect to be challenged spiritually! Expect to grow in your relationship with God! Our worship services are rarely more than an hour long and every facet is designed to present the truth of Scripture. Each service utilizes a wide array of mediums including congregational singing, Scripture reading, special music, and a relevant message; all designed to reinforce the powerful principles of God’s word. Our members and guests regularly enjoy fellowship following each service.
Do You Embarrass Guests During the Service?
No! You will not be asked to stand and introduce yourself. There will be a visitor card in the bulletin that we ask you to fill out. You will be greeted and talked to by our members, but no attention will be drawn to you from the stage.
What is Your Worship Service Like?
We usually begin with a song and a fellowship time followed by a greeting from our pastor, and then several songs. We mix familiar hymns for congregational singing with a variety of newer songs presented by our choir, soloists, and groups. The music is followed by a Bible-based message that seeks to teach and challenge those in attendance.
What About My Children?
We have a well-equipped nursery for newborns through age 3. There is also a children's church on Sunday mornings for children ages 4-10. We offer a Discovery Kids program on Wednesdays for children ages 4-10. We encourage parents to bring their children into the service on Sunday evenings so that they can become accustomed to sitting in a church service.
Do I Have to Put Money in the Offering Plate?
Not at all. We do collect an offering, but giving is for our members. So you don’t have to worry if people are watching to see if you give an offering. There is no expectation for visitors to give anything.
What About Sunday School?
We do have a Sunday School Small Group program that begins at 10:00 AM. Our Sunday School classes are designed to be small groups that meet together to discuss and apply the truths being presented. Prior to going to our Sunday School classes we have complementary coffee and a breakfast snack for you to enjoy in your class. You are welcome to join in and discuss or just sit and listen.
